Greenville Treaty City Invitational -- 8/31

This Saturday we will compete in the Treaty City Invitational at Greenville City Park.  Limited parking is available around the park and there are extra spaces just north of the park at Greenville High School (100 Greenwave Way).

Bus leaves -- 5:30 AM

Girls Reserve -- 8:00

Boys Reserve -- 8:30

Girls Varsity -- 10:00

Boys Varsity -- 10:30

Practice Update -- Week of 8/26

Practices on Tuesday and Thursday will meet at WWPC.  We will have one-way bus transportation provided for drop off.

Next Monday's practice (Labor Day) will be at 6 pm at WHS.

Centerville Saturday Night Lights Results

Full results from last night's races are available at Finish Timing.

The Varsity Girls finished 12th out of 23 teams (2nd among DII teams), led by Katie Spray's career best time of 21:04.

Our boys followed up with a 7th place finish (1st among DII teams) as Ben Stites, Max Hoffman, and Ian Goertzen all ran sub-17 minute times.  The boys individual record page has been updated with 3 new entries in our school's all-time top 20.

Thanks to everyone for a fantastic first race.  From solid times to great organization and effort among our athletes it was an outstanding way to start the season!

Centerville High School is charging a $5 per car parking fee (this includes entrance to the meet) to cover the cost of lighting rental.

Team Dinner -- 8/23

Fridays meal will be at the Gold's house (120 Linden Ave.) at 5:30.

Car Wash Fundraiser

On Sunday at 1 the Wyoming and Finneytown cross country teams will hold a joint car wash at Northminster Church on Compton Rd.  Please spread the word to family and friends to help our program!  Runners who will be washing cars should bring towels, buckets, and sponges if possible.

Schedule Update

Beginning Monday, practice will move to the afternoon.  On Monday we will meet at WWPC at 3.  The rest of the week will be after-school practice at the high school.  Runners are welcome to keep their belongings in my classroom during practice.

Athletic Boosters Super Saturday

The athletic boosters are in need of additional drivers for this Saturday's fundraiser.  Please email Tim Marty (timm@tedmarty.com) or Christine Marty (christine.marty@fuse.net) if you can help.  Drivers  should arrive at school by 9:45 and will be finished at or before noon.

Practice Update

Tomorrow (8/13) we will practice at WWPC off the Lakeridge Dr. entrance to the park.  If you are new to the team check out the Park Map.

On Thursday (8/15) we will meet at the main entrance to Glenwood Gardens.

Alumni Race Results

Thanks to all the alumni who came out and made this morning's time trial a great event!  While most of our grads who participated ran on teams I coached, it was particularly fun to have Dana Irvine (WHS '82) on the course today.  He is a great example of embracing the fun of a running lifestyle that our team hopes to promote among all our runners beyond graduation.

In our opening 3k race the boys high school teams defeated the alums 17-43.  Junior Ben Stites led the pack, shattering Spike Knickel's course record in a time of 9:47.

Next, the girls took to the trail, and our current team won by a 23-47 margin.  Junior Katie Spray finished first in 12:16.

Alumni Race -- 8/10

Our Alumni Race & Time Trial is tomorrow morning at 9am at Glenwood Gardens.  Please arrive early to warm-up and meet at the base of the first hill.  Drinks and bagels will be provided for after the race.

Team Dinner Schedule

We have team dinners scheduled for the following Friday evenings.  If you would like to help on any of the available dates please contact me and the host.  We continue to add new members to the team, so we can expect around 40-60 kids at dinner.  Thanks for your willingness to continue this great Wyoming CC tradition!

Parent Meeting -- 8/5 (updated)

We will have a parent meeting on Monday, 8/5 at WHS at 7pm.  This likely will take place in the Gymnasium or Music roon, depending on the school cleaning schedule.  I will have a sign posted, and will provide upcoming schedule details at our meeting.

Practices will continue at our summer running time of 9am until school begins.
