Regional Results

Our runners had a fantastic day at the Troy Regional as the girls had a top 10 showing and the boys qualified for their second trip to state in the past 3 seasons!

Terra Forsythe and Katie Spray highlighted the girls race as they both moved into the top 15 on the school's all performance list.  You can see the updated times on the individual records list.  Monica Unzueta and Madeleine Johnson also added career best marks as the girls finished the season with back-to-back exceptional performances at the District and Regional meets.

Led by a top 5 finish from Junior Ben Stites, the boys will return to the State Championships at National Trail Raceway next Saturday.  Tanner Anthony entered the Wyoming boys all-time top 20, leading our tightly packed 2-4 group with Max Hoffman and Ian Goertzen.  Evan Cramer, Cullen O'Brien, and Jonah Engelhardt completed our scoring.  Just over 30 points separated the top 4 teams who will all move on to Columbus from a field at Troy that included 7 teams rated in the state top 20.

Check out full results at Finish Timing.

District Results

We had two fantastic performances yesterday in the wind, rain, and mud at Voice of America Park as both the boys and girls claimed district championships.  This was the second district title sweep in school history.  You can view the full results at Finish Timing.

The boys raced first and placed all 7 runners in the top 15, easily earning a fourth consecutive district championship with a new DII district record low score of 19 (breaking our own 2011 scoring mark of 22).  Ben Stites took individual honors, followed by runner-up Ian Goertzen.

Later, the girls knocked off #1 seed McNicholas to also take the gold trophy.  The girls had their best race of the season on the biggest stage.  Terra Forsythe, Katie Spray, Whitley Elsass, and Margaret Manley all finished in the top 10, and our 5-7 runners provided a key advantage, displacing the final McNicholas scorers.

Congratulations to all our athletes on a fine day!

CHL Volunteers Needed

We need 1 volunteer to help at the finish line of next week's CHL Championship at Sharon Woods.  Volunteers could also split the duty so they could watch some of the races.  Also, Deer Park is in charge of this year's meet as the host and so far they have not come up with the necessary number of volunteers to serve as course marshals.  If anyone is interested in helping with either of these positions please email me.
