HOF Inductees
All four honorees at our recent WHS Hall of Fame Ceremony had ties to our running programs:
Coach Gary Jump led the track & field programs from 1973-78 and 1985-89. He was named SW Ohio Coach of the Year in 1976 when his team won a district championship and CHL Coach of the Year in 1987. Jerry Gordon ( Class of '77) was a four-year varsity track participant who won the Fred S. Dewey Award as a senior. Robin Fulton (Class of '00) was a four-time state meet participant who competed on two record-breaking championship relay teams. She still holds our 200m dash record. Finally, Greg Ruckman (Class of '92) held the 3200m school record for 23 years. He was a state runner-up, won the 800/1600/3200m distance triple crown at the CHL meet, and still ranks 4th on our cross country 5k rankings. Congrats to all!

State Championship Results
In his first appearance in the state finals, Junior Kolan Livingston earned a 12th place finish in the discus. Kolan's best throw measured 143 feet, 2 inches. He gained great experience as one of only 5 competitors eligible to return next season.
Later in the day Senior Ben Stites claimed a state title in the 3200m run, capping off one of the greatest seasons and careers in school history. The leaders came through the first mile at 4:44 with Ben sitting at the back of the front pack. Over the next 3 laps several runners faded leaving Ben in a 2-man duel with 500m remaining. He hammered a 62 second last lap, seizing the lead 300m from the finish for a convincing victory. With a winning time of 9:25.09 Ben broke his own school record set earlier this year and concluded another successful season for Wyoming Track & Field!

Uniform Return
Please remember to turn your uniform in by Friday! Since our season has run so close to the end of school the front office will be issuing fees and holding grades for anyone who does not return a uniform before the end of school.
Also, when returning uniforms you can pick up letters, academic patches, and notes I have written for each of the athletes. Due to our inability to participate in Spring Sports Awards and ensuing conflicts this has been the only way to distribute awards. Several of our special recognition awards will not be ready until after school ends and I'll get those to the recipients and recognize their accomplishments here on the blog. More details will follow in the coming days as we wrap up the 2015 season at the State Meet on Saturday.
